On June 11, Ripple announced that XRPLedger (XRPL)'s Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible sidechain will officially begin operation in the second quarter of 2025 at the APEX2025 Conference, which is currently being held in Singapore. EVM compatibility allows XRPL to seamlessly run Ethereum-based distributed applications (DApps) and smart contracts. This allows existing applications developed in the Ethereum ecosystem to run on XRPL, resulting in a major barrier to entry for developers…
