Rathbones Group names Jonathan Sorrell as new CEO

London-based wealth manager Rathbones Group has appointed Jonathan Sorrell as its new CEO, succeeding Paul Stockton who will retire after six years at the helm.
Sorrell will take on the role of CEO designate, pending regulatory clearance, on 1 July 2025.
Sorrell will move to Rathbones from Capstone Investment Advisors, where he has held the position of president since early 2020.
Before his time at Capstone, he served as the chief financial officer and later president at Man Group.
Stockton, who has been part of the Rathbones team for 16 years, will step down on 30 September 2025.
He joined Rathbones in 2008 as group finance director, before becoming managing director of Rathbones Investment Management in 2018 and the group CEO in May 2019.
Stockton stated: “With the support of the Board and a talented group executive team, we have laid strong foundations to support the next phase of growth for the Group.
“All remain fully committed to deliver on our strategy. Jonathan brings many strengths to the Group, and I very much look forward to working with him to ensure a successful transition.”
Sorrell will also join Rathbones Group and Rathbones Investment Management boards, at with Stockton retiring from both at the same time.
